    • The Automotive Aftermarket is approximately a $300 Billion Dollar a year industry
    • In the United States, there are over 210 million licensed drivers and 250 million registered vehicles.
    • Despite rising fuel costs, the U.S. drove over 3 trillion miles last year.
    • For the first time, the average age of passenger cars reached 11-years. Light truck longevity is 10.
    • The transmission repair channel increased by 6.9% in 2010 and 5.1% in 2011.
    • In 2002, transmission repair generated $2.3 billion. In 2014,
      that number is estimated to be $3.9 billion. A 70% increase in 12 years.
    • In 2002, general, non-warranty automotive repair and maintenance
      generated just over $900 million. In 2014, that number is projected at $1.6
      billion. A 78% increase in 12 years.
    • Due to industry consolidation and the declining number of dealerships,
      specialty and general repair channels are expected to continue to gain
      market share over the next five years.
